Expanding on the concept of the 3 body problem, this piece brings astrophysics down to a more human realm. The 3 body problem illustrates the challenge of predicting the motion of 3 celestial bodies in orbit with one another and the chaotic patterns that occur. In our 9 Body Problem, this idea becomes a metaphor for the human condition – our need to solve the unsolvable, to control chaos, and our unpredictable reactions when external factors change without warning. Within the unpredictable space of 9 bodies on stage, we ask the question: how do we move through chaos, instead of trying to find its formula?
Premiered July 2025 at The Southern Theater, Minneapolis, MN
